British Science Journal 'Nature' SLAMS Harper Government For "Manifest Disregard For Science"
In a strongly worded editorial, entitled Science in Retreat and published in Thursday's issue, the British journal Nature wrote that while Canada's researchers consistently rank among the world's finest, the same cannot be said for the federal government's position on science and research.
“Science has long faced an uphill battle for recognition in Canada, but the slope became steeper when the Conservative government was elected in 2006,” the editorial says. I don't think that progressives are at all surprised by this condemnation of the Harper government. The litany of 'anti-science' based decisions that the Harper administration makes is getting longer. Examples include the recent situation with the Chalk River nuclear reactor and ongoing denial of the impact of global climate change.
Let's face it, the right wing are ideologically driven and pragmatic political policy based on facts and scientific observations are beyond their ability.
Harper has been undermining our international reputation for several years now and the global warming conference was just one of the events where he took centre stage and made us look foolish.
Remember the Asia Pacific conference and the contretemps with China.
Then there was the francophonie summit.
Then there was a conference which had a press release rewritten because Harper made them re-state the situation vis-a-vis Israel and Palestine and everybody groaned and the nation took the hit for that childishness.
His Stockwellian obstinacy is hurting us all. Moreover, we can't afford his tax cuts.
We have to get rid of him, now!

Harper will be regarded as a man of clear thinking and great wisdom when the great 'Global Warming', scam is eventually revealed,(or has the name cleverly been changed to 'Climate Change' now that the planet is in the fourth straight year of a cooling trend.)

"Based on strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions, modern liberals relentlessly undermine the most important principles on which our freedoms were founded," says Dr. Lyle Rossiter, author of the new book, "The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness." "Like spoiled, angry children, they rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from cradle to grave."

I see the right wing proclivity for projection is as strong as ever!
