Book Reveals Stephane Dion Dabbled With Separation In His Formative Youth

"Dion joined the separatist cause while a CEGEP, or junior college, student in the early 1970s, Toronto journalist Linda Diebel writes in Against the Current, published by Viking Canada.

Young Stephane had been enthralled by the campus speeches of Parti Quebecois firebrand Claude Charron, later a prominent provincial cabinet minister under Rene Levesque."

... this isn't a new revelation.

Dion has frequently talked about these days and tells a funny story about the day he stopped believing in the separatist movement.

I actually hope Dion's camp plays this angle up in Quebec, it gives his arguments for prefering federalism credibility.
