I think it's totally funny that when the Star Wars screenwriters wrote the dialogue for a dictator taking control, the same words would be the exact words that Harper's speech writer chose.
The anti-conservative in me says this is a bad thing...
The Star Wars fan in me says at Palpatine could use the force, and frankly, that would be an awesome attribute for a Prime Minister...Even if he did draw his power from the dark side...
