Tories To Kill Wheat Board In Four Easy Steps
WINNIPEG -- A task force has recommended the federal government set up within two years a new, voluntary Canadian Wheat Board that would be completely owned by farmers with no financial support from Ottawa.The committee’s report, released Monday in Ottawa, also recommends that the plan to remove the board’s monopoly on wheat and barley exports be carried out in four phases.
