Henry Kissinger: Military Victory Not Possible in Iraq; U.S. Must Talk to Iran
He served as National Security Advisor and later Secretary of State in Nixon's Republican administration. He also served as Secretary of state after Gerald Ford became President in the aftermath of the Nixon-Watergate scandal.
Only the hardest right wing ideologue still clings to the notion that any type of 'victory' is possible in the region. American Republicans and Canadian Conservatives have been proven totally wrong in their military strategies for the middle east situation.

Kissinger actually had a very interesting take on the situation roughly a year ago that I know of, perhaps even further back but of course, not many people were were willing to listen.
Nothing has changed as far as Kissinger is concerned, only more ears are now open.
Kinda makes you wonder if we'll ever learn to at least consider the opinions of "the smarter people" before we latch on to whatever the latest slogan is.
Nah, silly idea. More fun to keep waving banners behind artards.

I didn't hear of Kissinger's earlier message - but a year ago the main stream media was totally on board with Bush and his little adventure in Iraq.
I think your dead on correct when you say, "Nothing has changed as far as Kissinger is concerned, only more ears are now open."
I am really hoping that old die hard Republicans are listening to him.
I read about an hour ago that about 112 people were killed around Iraq just today.
