Conservatives AGREE To Wheat Board Vote
The Regina Leader Post contains the following story today: "After months of refusing to promise farmers a vote on the future of the Canadian Wheat Board's wheat monopoly, federal Agriculture Minister Chuck Strahl has promised a second plebiscite."
This is good news indeed because the vast majority of prairie farmers WILL vote to continue the single desk marketing aspect of the Canadian Wheat Board.
The Conservative Party of Canada was determined to force their own vision onto farmers in contravention of the Act. (They could have saved themselves a lot of grief if they had not been so undemocratic on this issue).

In other words, Strahl's legal advisors finally slapped him around hard enough that he finally got the concept that he can just violate the act that constituted the Wheat Board in the first place.
