Ipsos Reid Is NOT The Issue - Dion's Bad Showing IS!
But rather then deal with the issue of the poll result, the 'Progressive Bloggers' site is abuzz with flame wars, litigation threats, poll methodolgy denials, EVERYTHING EXCEPT WHAT CANADIANS ARE SAYING: Stephane Dion is not going to waltz into 24 Sussex Drive as easy as Libs want.

Those Liberals hate losing. They hate it when somebody suggests that they might lose too.
That said, I am not sure the poll is of significant concern to Dion fans such as me. He has work to do, but I am optimistic he will do it. I have always felt that Dion is at his best when under attack because he reacts with calm and dignity.

Here's my sense of things -
1) Dion's performance in the house hasn't thrilled me.
2) He needs to return to the "calm professor" routine - when he's frustrated, his speech takes on a staccato that almost sounds like a stutter. He'll do better to simply seem utterly implacable to anything that Harper does.
3) Regardless of that, Harper has got to go before his anti-Canada platform goes any further in eroding our civil liberties, laws and freedoms.
4) Layton has not impressed me much as a leader either. He's been too busy trying to play the "gettin' it done" card lately, and is starting to look as if he's Harper's lapdog, not a serious opposition.
