ABC News: Supreme Court Rejects Bush Position On Global Warming
In a sweeping 5-4 decision released Monday, the United States Supreme Court rejected the Bush government's position on carbon dioxide. The Court has declared that The Clean Air Act gives the Environmental Protection Agency the authority to regulate the emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from cars.
The Bush administration has argued that carbon dioxide isn't a pollutant under The Clean Air Act, and therefore, the agency has no power to regulate them.
