Another "brilliant" republican idea. When will we learn?

I have had a couple of emails from individuals who are wondering if that is me in 'sleepy' mode.
Nope - just a photo off google images!

No big surprise - it didn't work when Nixon tried it in the early '70s either.
Looking around my home, the bulk of my power consumption comes from things like my furnace, and a couple of computers that I never shut down.
All of the light fixtures I use are fluorescent, and only draw a minimal amount of energy.
It's not just that it's another "brilliant" republican idea that rankles - it's the fact it is a recycled idea that's really sad.
