Who Will Be The First To Unilaterally Declare An Independent State of 'Palestine'?
As cutesy as these little word plays are, it raises the serious question of which of the two sides will be the first to actually declare themselves as the State of Palestine with the accompanying flag and other trappings of statehood?
If you think that the Palestinian situation is complicated and volatile now, just wait and see what happens when one - or both of these camps unilaterally declares themselves as the legitimate State of Palestine.

What a horrible thought. An independent state of Gaza could never survive without mass starvation.

Jason, I agree totally. Think of the politics though that would come into play. Hammas would be able to allow the entire population to be 'martyrs' to their cause. Iran would probably be the first nation to officially recognize the new 'state'. China and a few other minor nations may recognize as well.
There would be the day to day challenge of blockade running.
The Muslim world would be in sympathy with the Gaza - Palestinians.
It would be a BLOODY MESS.
(But it is what I am predicting just might occur soon).
