No Trip To Canada For Conrad Black
CTV reports: "Judge Amy St. Eve said she is willing to reconsider her decision if Black could post more money for bail, but the former media baron's legal team said he does not have the funds.
The decision was made in a Chicago courtroom this afternoon where Black attended his second bail hearing."
-CTV
-CBC has more on the court proceeding ....
Remember when it was popular to make fun of women in professons? Now there's Amy St. Eve who has put a clamp on Conrad Black. She is not a shrinking violet and she's to be commended for her standing up to Conrad.
Hope he likes prison and being mixed in with the general population.

From what I can tell, Amy St. Eve has been fair and balanced in the entire way she has handled the trial, the Jury and the defendent. He must regret giving up one of the best 'citizenships' in the world.

" but the former media baron's legal team said he does not have the funds."
It looks like Conrad Black will go from "high society" to low-life in no time; we'll see what happens in November.
I'm sure Lord Black has a hard time accepting that "he can't always get what he wants". Poor Black, messing with the wrong people in the wrong country. Not so smart after all.

Eric .. there is some talk that a bunch of Black's friends might be willing to put up some millions more in security / bond money for him - so he may get into Canada yet. Other reports say he has upwards of $60 Million stashed away.
