Canadian Actor's Belongings Sold On Ebay In Order To Pay For Travel and Funeral
I don't know much about Canadian actor, Corey Haim. I don't think I ever saw any of his movies. I do know that he was 38 when he passed away this week and that he died broke. I guess I find it unfortunate that his mother has bundled up his belongings and is selling them on Ebay in order to raise sufficient funds to bring his body back to Canada and have a funeral.
Now that's kinda tragic.

As a recovering addict I cannot help but feel compassion and a lot of sorrow for Corey Haim and for his family. Some people die in their addiction whether they were using at the time or not. Sadly I fear that this was Corey's fate.

You never saw Lost Boys? That's kind of tragic too.
It is a shame and should make every parent think twice about letting their kids become child actors.

Reading between the lines here ... it's not a stretch to say that if that gesture is indicative of the "family values" environment that Haim weathered as a child, no wonder he flunked out of rehab clinics over 15 times.
Not an unusual thing for showbiz kids - look at Lindsay Lohan's and Michael Jackson's parents.

deBeauxOs: let's not forget Gary Coleman's parents who fucked up and spent his money from Diff'rent Strokes. He may not be a drug addict, but look at his sad existance: court tv shows like divorce court and a few years back, some other one; that judge who was a boxer, anyhooo...
I don't think it's just up to parents to talk these kids out of being child actors...more to it than that.
