New Democrat Leader Jack Layton Announces That He Has New Cancer - Taking Leave Of Absence
Under the rules of the New Democratic Party, the federal Caucus and Party executive will be consulted in order for the Federal Council to select an Interim leader during Jack's treatment and recovery. The selection of Interim Leader will be made within a couple of days.

Oh dear. I wish Jack a full and speedy recovery. It's always sad to see someone his age stricken with this horrible disease.

I've admired Jack and his work for the last few decades and I wish him a full recovery and I hope he takes valuable extra time before coming back and be his old self again.
The nation needs him but only when he is fully ready and strong enough to take back the duties of his office.
Be strong, Jack. Be strong.

I wish Jack a full and speedy recovery. He is going through a hell right now that no one should ever have to endure. I look forward to disagreeing with Mr. Layton for many years to come.
