Remember Afghanistan??? ... Well ... here we go again .. Stephen Harper won't be able to resist throwing Canadian troops into yet another conflict with guerrilla forces that can't be defeated in an open field of war.

Oddly enough, I think you're right about the source of the problem - though I think there were some altruistic motives in assisting the Afghani forces initially.
But you would hope the U.S. and other Western countries would learn from the nightmare of Somalia, where the U.S. was begged by the U.N. to step in, and after saving millions of people from starvation, were basically turned on by those same people.
Good on you Buckdog! Let the whole African continent rot... the only solution to their problems, no doubt, is going to be centuries of evolution carrying them, one day, to true democratic reforms after enough of their people tire of dictator after dictator abusing them.
