Hamid Karzai and Jack Layton Meet Today
The President of Afghanistan and the Leader of Canada's New Democrats met today for talks in the City of Montreal.
Reports indicate that the two men had a good meeting and they discussed a variety of issues related to the situation in Afghanistan and the Canadian mission to that nation.
CTV reports "Layton said he and Karzai agreed military might alone isn't enough to secure Afghanistan's long-term stability, and any political solution to the country's problems need to include Pakistan."

I love how Layton tries to make it sound like Karzai agrees with his stance on Afghanistan, even though Karzai made it clear in his speech yesterday that the mission was not "unbalanced" and that he did not want Canadian troops to pull out early.
