Get You Passport For Flights To The USA After January 23rd
Travellers flying to the United States will officially need passports starting Jan. 23, according to the Homeland Security Secretary.
Michael Chertoff told the Associated Press that the department would officially announce plans on Wednesday.
The requirements will also apply to all Canadians and Americans entering the United States by land and sea by mid-2009, more than a year earlier than originally scheduled due to complaints from business groups and politicians on both sides of the border.

According to our new regulations all US citizens are going to be required to have no less than 4 official forms of ID to even renew a driver's license beginning in '08.
1. Official birth certificate
2. Social Security card
3. Current official picture ID (either a state issued driver's license or state issued ID card)
4. An official passport.
And we laughed at the Eastern Europeans with their "official ID" cards.

good luck on this consumer costly venture to require passports which will eventually be needed everywhere. 1984 is here and well. We have the know how to do better and get a system that will work. Chertoff and most of those guys have the barest knowledge on technical matters so they usually end up wrong and that costs us time and money.
