Taliban NOT Backing Down In Afghanistan
Canadians have been told that the fighting in Afghanistan was supposed to slow down during the winter months. The opposite is the truth. Fighting is intensified in parts of that country. On the heels of a British retreat late last week, it is fair to say that this war IS NOT going the way that our elected leaders said it would:

-Karzai: NATO bombs, terrorists kill kids

Yes, been following this. There are a few US citizens who haven't forgotten about THAT war, honest.
Looking for it to get worse. We need to get our democracy-spreading butts out of Iraq and get back to Afghanistan which still has a chance of survival and quit letting Canada and the UK fight our battles for us.
Just my opinion but...if Afghanistan goes down the radical path Musharraf better head for Argentina if he's fond of sucking air. Which of course leaves India with some even more unwelcome new neighbours.
