Lawyer Challenges Canada's Secret Evidence Law
The Federal Court of Canada is currently hearing a matter where Section 38 of the Canada Evidence Act is being tested. Lawrence Greespon is representing Mohammad Khawaja who insists the Charter of Rights and Freedoms is being overruled by Canada's anti-terrorism measures.
How can any Canadian be expected to defend themselves properly if you are not able to face your accuser and to see the evidence that is being presented against you? Day by day, step by step, it seems as if Canadians are losing our freedoms as citizens. As long as right wing ideology is at the centre of our government, we are all in peril of losing our Charter protections
