Where Is The Federal Probe On RCMP Pension Irregularities?
On March 29th, Federal Cabinet Minister, Stockwell Day announced that there would be an independent investigation into RCMP pension allegations. With much fanfare, a Federal Government news release stated, "Ottawa, March 29, 2007 — The Honourable Stockwell Day, Minister of Public Safety, today announced that Canada’s New Government will launch immediately a full, independent investigation into allegations made before the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, related to the administration of the RCMP pension plan." Two weeks later - nothing.
