Conservative vote in rural areas is very high hence the overall high tory percentage but without the seat count you would expect from those numbers.
There were some rural seats where the Tory vote was at 60% levels.
It is the same in Saskatchewan as well, very high rightwing vote in the farming seats.

Bravo NDP! Isn't 'progressive conservative' an oxymoron?

"Isn't 'progressive conservative' an oxymoron?:
I have always thought so, it just shows to what lengths these people will go to try and soften their image or fluff up their harsh beliefs in order to fool us into voting for them.
'Progressive' essential is VERSUS 'Conservative'.
Thanks Tom!

I still make a distinction between the PC Party and the darkly sinister Conservative Party of Canada, but that is for another day.
Kudos to Premier Doer on his hattrick. Doer is the type of New Democrat that his peers should be trying to emulate. What Doer has proven is that Blairism and the Third Way works.
