World Record Rainbow Trout (Over 43 lbs) Caught In Saskatchewan
The trout was caught by Adam Konrad on June 5th, 2007. It weighed in at 43 lbs, 6 ounces and the girth on this fish was 34 inches setting a new world record! Konrad caught the fish on 6-pound line and a 4-inch orange spoon called a Mepps Syclops.
The previous World Record was also caught in Saskatchewan and was held by Duane Farden of Macrorie, Saskatchewan.

I think that man may have contributed to the large size of these trout. They are being caught in Lake Diefenbaker, which is a large body of water behind an huge dam.
