Ezra Levant, Kate McMillan, Kathy Shaidle and Free Dominion ALL BEING SUED!
"Warman’s not just suing me. He’s suing some of the biggest names in the Canadian blogosphere – from Kate McMillan of Small Dead Animals to Kathy Shaidle of Five Feet of Fury (or, Five Feet of Furry, as the lawsuit says on page 2), to Free Dominion, the largest conservative chat site in Canada. Warman’s goal is breathtaking in its chutzpah: he wants to muzzle the Canadian conservative Internet." Ezra Levant

As I said at BCL, I do feel uncomfortable over his reasons for suing SDA.
As for the rest of them, Levant included - its not about muzzling the Conservative Internet, as Treehugger said at Stageleft, its about not accusing people of something without having proof to back it up. Thats called defamation, or libel. You're not allowed to do that - free speech or not.
What's worse? Lying to the blogosphere or pandering to their visceral base desires?
A Canadian commentator named Gordon Sinclair of CFRB radio and Front Page Challenge had a daily column on CFRB and he'd rattle on about whatever was top of his mind.
People would listen because he was provocative and others would listen to confirm their prejudices. "There you go, Martha. He's back on the fluoride as rat poison rant."
Sinclair was the shock talk jock of his day--a forerunner of Howard Stern or Joe Pine without a call-in audience.
Now we have so many others who come on the air and keep talking without having much input from others, Adler, Coren, Limbaugh, Hannity to name just a few.
Jews once had a wear a yellow star of David to distinguish themselves from others in Europe. By the same token, if everyone who faithfully listens to these panderers had to wear Mickey Mouse ears for one week in public we'd soon learn more about the community--particularly the public figures like mayors, premiers and members of the fourth estate.
I say let them continue their rants. The intelligent among us know better and the target audience is already filled with converts.
But of course we have laws that protect children in this country. Maybe we should do something about protecting the mental children of the country.
