Roman Catholic Bishop Denies Communion To Rep. Patrick Kennedy
Is this the same Roman Catholic Church that has been rocked by the exposure of priests sexually abusing altar boys? Is this the same Roman Catholic Church which has a pope who was a member of the Hitler Youth and was assigned to a German Military anti-aircraft unit during World War II that fired on Allied planes?
You have to ask yourself, if this same Bishop denies communion to Catholic Republican politicians who vote against health care for children and who supported President Bush and Vice-President Dick Cheney as they authorized torture as a weapon of war?
Hypocrites!

Great minds, Dawg. I did this one yesterday. We have an establishment clause in our Constitition which this bishop is violating by effectively threatening a politician with damnation.

With all the shortcomings listed above, one wonders how the Church can claim any moral authority.
What is also galling is that the Church is trying to push itself back to the forefront of America's daily life while all the time it is
becoming increasingly irrelevant to greater numbers of Americans.
The Church is also losing greatly to the evangelicals in the Latin American nations.
A sinking ship is the best analogy for the Church's situation and the temporal Captain of the entire operation is truly a piece of work.
What's truly worrying is the increasing encroachment of religion into the centre of daily life of the nations of the world. That includes Canada and Harper is the chief architect in that matter.
Time for us to take back our nations from any religious intervention in our temporal lives.
