The result is that people forget simple rules like "Do not call after 10 pm or before 12 am". Lack of privacy is a very depressing think.

A former corporate client of mine now expects its lawyers to be available, via Blackberry e-mail, even while on holiday, anywhere in the world, 24/7. They don't care if you're on a beach in Maui. They call, you had better respond - pronto.
Surely a lot of this must be grounded in job insecurity that breeds a level of competition mixed with fear that employers can exploit.
Not surprisingly this seems to be heavily weighted to the middle class.
