Kiefer Sutherland Unveils Tommy Douglas Statue In Saskatchewan
"Actor Kiefer Sutherland was on hand in Weyburn, Sask., Friday for the unveiling of a statue honouring his grandfather, Tommy Douglas.
Douglas, a former premier of Saskatchewan, is credited with introducing universal, publicly funded medical insurance in the province, a precursor to Canada's national health-care system. Sutherland, the son of actors Shirley Douglas and Donald Sutherland, participated as a representative of the family.
Despite a steady drizzle and chilling winds, the unveiling on Riverfront Boardwalk attracted hundreds of people — many eager for a glimpse of Sutherland."

The unveiling of the statue was a great event. The only upset was that the Canadian media forgot to mention the sculptor, Lea Vivot. In cultured society, some would like to know. The sculpture which would cost in excess of 250,000 dollars was donated to the Canadians, and Kiether Sutherland was invited to attend the event as he is a grandson to the father of Medicare, Tommy Douglas. It was the media that did wrong by not crediting the sculptor who made the event possible, Lea Vivot.
When writing about the 24 TV series the media would certainly not forget to mention the main star.
Thank You.
