The Oil Industy IS NOT A 'Jobs Machine' - No Matter What Stephen Harper & His Oil Party Say!
"For the record, the oil industry is not a jobs machine. It is the world's most capital-intensive industry and earns more than 10 per cent of the world's GDP. But it only employs less than one tenth of one per cent of the world's workers. In Canada it accounts for but 1.8 per cent of the workforce."

They keep talking about thousands of jobs for BC that Enbridge pipeline and the dirty oil tankers will bring to BC.
Enbridge has their own pipe laying crew. When the pipeline is done, so are the jobs. The tankers will give maybe, 15 workers jobs in the pumping station. Who does make money with Enbridge, is the spill clean-up crew. Mind you, Enbridge didn't bother to clean up the Kalamazoo River spill very well either.
Alberta has the most oil jobs, because of the tar sands. However, tar sands aren't exactly good words, in the world.
A Vancouver company, is working with Vanadium. This is used to strengthen steel. It is a very good storage for renewable energy. China has a lot of Vanadium, they intend to use it, for their energy storage.
