Army Recruiters Mislead Students - 'War is Over'
ABC News and New York affiliate WABC equipped students with hidden video cameras before they visited 10 Army recruitment offices in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
"Nobody is going over to Iraq anymore?" one student asks a recruiter.
"No, we're bringing people back," he replies.

Recruiters lie.
Why?
Then kids die because a bunch of nutbar right wingers are in power and don't have a bloody clue what they are doing except screwing up the world because of some evangelical ideological nonsense!
Minimise it all you want.

We are among the "lucky ones" for the moment.
She was deploying to Iraq in July but at the last minute her orders were switched to Turkey so she is in Turkey near the Syrian border.
She could still go to Iraq at any time because they can re-deploy from her base so we are just hoping that doesn't happen.
This is her 2nd deployment since since '01 and she'll likely do a 3rd before her time is up.
Not griping about that, that's part of being in the military but yes, I take exception to the complete incompetant bungling of everything re: Iraq
We have lost all control of the situation, (actually we never effectively HAD control of it) we refuse to acknowledge this fact and continue raving about our "glorious successes" and in the meantime thousands of US, UK, and Canadian troops and Iraqi citizens are dying needlessly.
It isn't about being "liberal" or "conservative", it's about having even a modicum of common sense and ability to look at reality. I get very irate when right-wingnuts start their name-calling and mocking bs when anyone deviates from their written-in-stone party line.
At this moment in history I'm leaning left because the right has gone straight off the deep end. When the left starts jumping off the deep end I s'pect I'll be leaning right. I like a little reality with my morning coffee and the right is providing none at this time.
