It's Official - Cell Phones No Risk To Your Health
Driving while talking on a cell phone is risky. You might crash your car. But what are the health risks of prolonged usage of celluar phones? There had been previous reports that electromagnetic fields might penetrate into the human brain but new research discounts those fears.Dr. John Boice of Vanderbilt University is part of a scientific team trying to clarify.
"There have been studies of brain tumor, leukemia, salivary glands, cranial nerves and the vast number of studies being published around the world, and they're really not finding any evidence for increased cancer risk," said Boice.
The latest study is published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, and it found no cancer risk among 420,000 cell phone users in Denmark who first subscribed between 1982 and 1995.
"After 10 years of rather intense exposure to cellular telephone frequencies, there's very little evidence at all that they result in cancer in the users," said Boice.
