Harper Lacks Creativity and Leadership on Climate Change
Here is what Harper said when acknowledging the findings of the IPCC in France:
"I don't think realistically we can tell Canadians, 'Stop driving your car, stop going to work, stop heating your house in the winter."
So let's just throw our hands up in the air because 'we gotta keep drivin', don't we?'
What an airhead statement from a supposed world 'leader'. So Mr. Harper - you have no creative ideas at all on how we can START a modicum of emission reduction?
Is that all we are going to get from this guy is a dumbass statement like that and more of Minister Baird yelling in the House of Commons?
Call the election!

""I don't think realistically we can tell Canadians, 'Stop driving your car" - What a completely knee jerk answer. Nothing but a reaction devoid of the ability to comprehend ANYTHING other then driving as normal.
If all Canadians who drive to work, (and were within reasonable proximaty to their workplace) could leave the car at home 1 day per month and use some kind of public transit, it would amount to a 5% decrease monthly in their car emissions.
One day a week of 'no drive' would equal a 20% reduction. Times the number of working Canadians who volunteer to simply TRY, we could have a net decrease occuring as a national volunteer program by March.

I don't expect anything "creative" out of a hard right-wing Albertan - his power and donation base is too tied up in the oil patch.
Harper can't afford to piss them off.
