National Métis Leader Fights Removal From Office
"Controversy is brewing in Métis political circles after executives on the Métis National Council voted to oust its Saskatchewan-based president last week.
Clément (Clem) Chartier told CBC News that he will fight the executive's motion to remove him from office, calling the move illegal. Presidents from four of the council's five provinces voted to remove Chartier, saying his term as president had expired.
Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia voted in favour, while Manitoba opposed the motion."
