Army Arrests Hundreds Of Monks In Pre-Dawn Raids In Burma

Burmese military units moved on a number of Buddhist monasteries in Myanmar and arrested hundreds of monks in the pre-dawn hours.

Governments--particularly despotic governments--become fearful when people start to lead.

We have the means to help this people...but only if the US takes the lead, and Bush will fuck it up.

*sigh* Darfur, Zimbabwe, and now Burma...the West has had the chance to put its massive military and economic resources to work. But Iraq fucked all that up. A supposed "humanitarian intervention" isn't going to happen again for a long time. Too bad for these people.
