Japanese Whalers Bow To International Pressure And Cease Hunt For Humpback Whales
The extremely primitive Japanese practice of hunting intelligent humpback whales in the Antarctic for sushi has been temporarily abandoned, after massive international outrage. Earlier this week, Australia send a patrol ship to monitor the Japanese whaling fleet off the coast of Antarctica as they tried to find and kill Humpback Whales. The Japanese have indicated that while they will leave the Humpbacks alone, they still intend on killing over 1000 whales of other species.
The Japanese deserve the world's contempt for allowing such massive whale hunts! Their concept of what constitutes food must be underdeveloped, if they believe it is permissible to kill and consume some of the planets most intelligent species.

Thanks for reporting this news Buckdog!!! I am strongly for the cause of saving our animal species, even more so than Global Warming. Global Warming is like a steamroller without brakes, we may not be able to stop it, but we can work to save our animals from extinction.

I am actually surprised that the Japanese buckled under to world pressure. Surely they can see that their need to EAT 50 Humpback whales is far outweighed by the potential damage to the Japanese economy if a coordinated BAN on their products were ever organized to protest their 'taste' for whale .... (which many Japanese, apparently, still consider a fish and not a mammal)!
