Twenty-five years ago today, on January 21, 1983, the ex-wife of Colin Thatcher was brutally murdered in her garage in Regina. Former husband, Colin Thatcher, son of former Saskatchewan Premier Ross Thatcher and a serving Saskatchewan Conservative M.L.A. and Cabinet Minister, was later convicted of murdering his ex wife.Two years after an unsuccessful attempt on her life, JoAnn was found beaten and shot to death in the garage of her Regina home. After a lengthy police investigation, Thatcher was charged.
