'Breakthrough' In Writers Strike
"A breakthrough has reportedly been reached during informal talks between striking Hollywood writers and production companies. The two sides bridged the gap over the key issue of payment for projects distributed on the internet, the Associated Press news agency said. A deal would end the three-month writers' strike that has crippled the entertainment industry. It could also resolve a deadlock over the Oscars ceremony later this month.

Oh, are they still on strike? Hehe, I've not missed them one little bit....in fact the few shows I watch regularly (like The Daily Show) have actually been better without the writers.

I have one or two shows that I follow (I love LOST) ... and SNL. I believe that the writers should get some recognition/royalty when their creative work hits the internet and some network is making a fortune. This thing has gone on for 3 months but I think the writers felt that they really had to dig their heels in on this one.

Letterman has writers, his company signed a separate deal.
It's best for Hollywood to reach to an agreement before the Oscars.
