A Quarter Of The British Population Believes Winston Chuchill Was A Fictional Character: POLL
This doesn't say much for the British educational system and curriculum! A recent poll indicates that 1 of every 4 Britons polled, thought that Winston Churchill is a character from fiction not history. The same poll found that 58 percent of those polled thought that Sherlock Holmes was an actual historical figure.

Things have really gone down hill in the UK since Thatcher. Of course over here in Saskatchewan we have people who think the world is six thousand old (like my next door neighbour)or people who think the moon landing was fake. The last one of those that I met was a supporter of the Saskatchewan Party...what else is new...
