Retirement Investment Advice To Bloggers
If you listen to the Harperite 'Free Market Radicals' and have decided that you need to invest in the stock market in order to have a little nest egg when your blogging career is over, please consider these points:
- If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock a while back, it would now be worth $49.00.
- With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1000.00.
- With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.
- If you had purchased $1000 of Delta Air Lines stock you would have $49.00 left.
However, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminium recycling REFUND, you would have $214.00 left and at least you would have had a better time wasting your money!
TASER™ shares pre-Dziekanski - $19
TASER™ shares now - $7.

If you bought $1000 in PCS when it privatized, that investment would be worth over $24000 today. Everything in perspective.
But you keep thinking this way buddy. Maybe you too will be happy to live off the OAS and CPP pensions at below the poverty line.

Gerald, your Potash Corp of Sask (PCS) example is not one of the best ... this was a government privatization of a Crown corp, where Grant Devine sold off Saskatchewan assets at firesale prices. The original sale offerings were FAR below what they should have been. Once again, a right wing Conservative government ripped off the public public purse to ensure that their own friends could get rich.
