Deranged Independent Candidate Wants Gays To Be Executed - He should actually READ his bloody bible!
"Police are investigating whether an independent federal candidate committed a hate crime by telling high school students homosexuals should be executed. David Popescu was invited to participate in a federal candidates' discussion at Sudbury Secondary School on Tuesday. He made the comment after a student asked his opinion of gay marriage. Within hours, the Greater Sudbury Police Service said they were investigating. "We are actively conducting a criminal investigation in this matter," deputy police chief Frank Elsner said."
The Sudbury Star
Too bad that this lunatic didn't actually read his bible ... here is what it says if a married man has sex with a woman who is married to someone else:
"If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel."
Deuteronomy 22:22
According to 'the bible' the death penalty would ALSO apply for each and every case of adultery in Canada. Trust me ... the executioners would be busy!
I respect this lunatics right to free speech ... but he should be mocked and laughed at everywhere he goes!
Idiot!
Hi Leftdog,
This is very concerning as this happen in a high school with students. The school board would have a "human rights policy" which this guy would have violated on those premises.
High schools are very difficult spaces with students who are gay as it is a time in their lives of forming their identities. Bullying is a huge issue and concern. Having an adult in a position of seeking public office say this could actually induce harm towards a student or students.
There is free speech but schools are suppose to be SAFE spaces for all.

Let him have his say. There is the element of free speech, y'know.
When such people emerge from the woodwork, we are reminded that they are the minority and will remain there because saner minds prevail--at least in Canada.
Maybe this person should be given his proper exposure on talk radio and evangelical television. Those are, after all, his main franchise.
But, he'd be talking to the converted and curious onlookers will look on in pity.
Yes, that's what happens with the likes of Popescu, Coren, Adler et alii. Let them have their say to their little part of society.

Ironically, he appears to be wearing a wool pullover and a cotton top. Fetch the stones, he's first to go.
I wonder if he'll ask for shrimp as a last meal...
he should be mocked and laughed at everywhere he goes
Yep, and lets not hold back...

Hopefully the school and the school board will take this opportunity for a teaching moment.
A young man I know went through a miserable experience due to bullying in high school as he was establishing his identity. Fortunately he survived as we all do however it deeply marked those years for him.
In my opinion, it is critical that this be discussed with the student body who witnessed this statement. To outline the importance of freedom of speech but also to emphasize the nature of hate incitement which this clearly is.

If you click on the link (deranged) you will see that he has already been convicted of assaulting his own mother, after claiming he had the right to “discipline” her for failing to follow his instructions based on biblical instructions concerning women,
His discipline of his own mother included slapping, grabbing and shaking her. For 30 years, he's been living off her pension and not working.
He received 115 votes in the 2007 provincial election!

"Police are investigating whether an independent federal candidate committed a hate crime by telling high school students homosexuals should be executed..."
Sounds like an incitement to violence to me.

That's pretty close to what many evangelists have been saying for decades. It takes a trained ear to hear the code words.
