"OTTAWA — Natural Resources Minister Lisa Raitt called the medical isotopes crisis "sexy," said she wanted to take credit for fixing it, and expressed doubts about the skills of Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq on a recording obtained by The Chronicle Herald." Halifax Chronicle
Canadians dying of cancer .... 'Sexy'? I guess if you are one of Harper's Cabinet Ministers it is!!

Raitt's comments were totally insensitive, but I think the real story here is that Michael Ignaiteff decided to prop up the Harper government because he was threatened with retaliation by the CEOs of three major banks from the Canadian Council of Chief Executives.
Good to know where he's getting his marching orders!
The more I think about it, the stranger it seems that this story was burried in the larger story about Raitt's comments.
Sure, Raitt's comments are fact and therefore more solid news, but the C-H had this tape for months. It was their story. Why spend some time more thoroughly investigating what happened at that CCCE meeting and run two front page articles--one on each part of the tapes?
CTV was reporting that the Chronicle Herald had the tape since end of March but the reporter did not listen to it. When the other thing went down with Raitt and her assistant, he remembered he had it and apparently gave it a listen.

You have to a brain the size of a pea to believe that Ignatieff angle. Seriously.
