Saskatoon Star Phoenix SLAMS Government Minister For Hypocrisy And Inapproprate Attack In Sask Legislature
"The indignant attempt by Corrections and Public Safety Minister Yogi Hughebaert to castigate the NDP for using leaked information to publicize the mistaken early release of a dangerous sexual offender only draws attention to the hypocrisy of the Saskatchewan Party in government. [...]
So what happened to the principles of the Saskatchewan Party that, when it sat in Opposition, felt safeguarding the public was so important that it introduced its own whistleblower protection bill in 2004 to protect employees being fired, demoted, or otherwise punished for raising concerns about a provincial government agency or department, Crown corporation, health authority, municipality, university or school division?
In government, the Saskatchewan Party not only has shown zero interest in resurrecting the bill or living up to its principles, but we now have Mr. Hughebaert threatening a witchhunt for the whistleblower.
Could this be the same party that in Opposition had few qualms about sitting on secretly obtained Regina police documents for a year and then using the information about fraud by an NDP caucus worker as a way to embarrass the former government? Personal information on others contained therein be damned, the party actually posted the documents on its website for the world to see until the police asked for their removal?"
Saskatoon Star Phoenix
Seems the Premier is showing his true colours by allowing a Minister who lied to the public through the Legislature to remain in Cabinet.

The leaked confidential docs was the first thing I thought of when I heard this on CBC radio this morning. Hypocrisy was the second. Seems like our little Sask Party is becoming more and more like their big brothers the Cons every day except they hold a majority. Scary times we're living in isn't it?
