Alberta Provincial Budget Supports NDP Leader Mulcair's Argument On Dutch Disease ... Ooops!

Alberta's Provincial Budget supports New Democratic Party Leader, Tom Mulcair's argument on Dutch Disease:
"The Canadian dollar remains elevated, buoyed by high commodity prices. And appreciation of the Canadian dollar could hurt exporters. Manufacturing companies will continue to be challenged by a strong Canadian dollar and moderate external demand."

Postscript for my Saskatchewan readers:
Premier Brad Wall has some explaining to do!
His over the top 'outrage' looks a tad ridiculous now ... doesn't it? Perhaps a bit 'un-premier' like?

I'm now expecting Dean Del Mastro to stand up in Parliament and say "The facts have nothing to do with it, the NDP hates Alberta!"

That stuff is not meant to be read by the general population. No the general population is too "stupid" for in-depth analysis, angry sound bites on the news are easier to digest and convey narrative of "says you".

Totally agree!

The national media's attempt to foment an East-West war over what, is properly, a left-right issue is disgraceful, intellectually dishonest, and intellectually reckless. More people agree with Mulcair's claim in the Westernmost province of British Columbia than in Ontario.

Canada has lost, Caterpillar, Bombardier, Aveos and now G.M. There were millions given to G.M. Now they are going to the U.S. I'm not sure what the other factories were. Canada has lost thousands of jobs, and Harper has done nothing, as usual.

Mulcair is exactly right, the dirty tar sands are killing the entire country.

Harper is encouraging Canadians to shop in the U.S. Strangely Harper is losing billions in revenue for Canada, and could care less.

Then I was told to read: Harper gives a speech in New York, at the Council of Foreign Relations. This was Sept 25/2007. Then all of Harper's weird, insane behavior, fell into place. Everything Harper has done, fits.
