Layton: "Fair and sustainable trade, that's what we've got to put together here."
Jack Layton
The leader of the New Democrats appeared on CNN's Lou Dobbs tonight to discuss the general state of NAFTA as well as allegations related to leaks that have affected the US primaries.

Layton was terrific on CNN tonight. He's a credible crtic of trade deals and protecting jobs.
It's good that our American neighbours got to hear from him.
Jack stuck it to Harper on the leaks and repeated that at a minimum Harper should apologize to Americans for the interference.
Layton's a class act.

The criticism that Layton gets from Liberals is pathetic. They yammer that he wants to 'rip up NAFTA'. What they don't say is what New Democrat policy is all about ... we want to renegotiate international trade deals to ensure that they WORK! If they 'work' then Canadians 'work' too and wouldn't be losing jobs!

Me thinks the libs are pissed because Jack's on prime time US TV, and paired with the "hope campaign" of Obama, even OBAMA'S official webpage has a Jack link!
On a side note, the libs flip-flopped on the NAFTA rejigging back in 1993, and thus have to - gasp - sit on their hands and hide away - so unusual for them these days! tee hee!
Maybe the NDP just needs to by-pass the Canadian MSM, and go state side with out message - standing up for Canada!
