Premier Brad Wall Insists Saskatchewan Is BOOMING! But StatsCan Says Something Different ....
"In Saskatchewan, employment declined by 3,000 in August. The unemployment rate fell 0.4 percentage points to 4.5%, as fewer people participated in the labour market. Employment levels in the province were down 0.5% compared with 12 months earlier."
StatsCan
And by the way - in our so called 'BOOMING' Saskatchewan, unemployment also went up in the months of February, March and April 2011. What BOOM is Wall talking about?
(Ever hear any mention of this from the Corporate Media who simply love Wall???)
I always find it odd that right-wingers talk about the "left-wing media." Are the Rawlinsons left-wingers? Is Paul Hill a left-winger? How about the folks at the Leader Post and Star Phoenix? Saskatchewan is doing deeper and deeper into debt and the right-wing media is cheering all the way. Landlords are gouging people and not a negative word in the media. When there are a few new jobs created, they are of the Wal-Mart greeter variety, and the media stands and cheers.
If people think things were tough after two terms of Grant Devine...you ain't seen nothing yet. A second term of Wall and comapany will leave us in far worse shape than the last time we went for the right-wing bait.
The only people for whom Saskatchewan is booming either work in Mr. Wall's executive council, in upper management at health districts, or in the corporate headquarters of Potash Corp (notice the words "of Saskatchewan" are no longer there...at least they're honest about that.)
