November 29, 1949 – June 2, 1983)
Canadian folk singer Stan Rogers passed on 30 years ago yesterday. He would be 63 now if he were still alive. He died in a fire aboard an Air Canada flight on the ground at Cincinnati Airport at the age of 33. Renowned for his songs about regular Canadians and their lives, his music was truly inspiring.
Being from Saskatchewan, I've always been partial to his haunting song about life on a prairie farm, "The Field Behind The Plow."
