Documents released to Sun Media under
the Access to Information Act show that there were 114 cases of misconduct dealt with by the force since 2005. Of those cases, no demotions in rank resulted from a variety of offenses which included violence, sexual assault, harassment, impaired driving, abuse of authority, fraud or interfering with administration of justice.

Also, no RCMP personnel were punished as a result of the shortcomings and mistakes revealed by the Arar inquiry. In fact some of the main people involved have been promoted.

There is obviously some serious problems in the upper ranks of the force.
