While the Liberals and Green's want to impose a new tax on average Canadian working families, the New Democrats believe that there is a much better way to fight high carbon utilization that does not harm low income Canadians!The NDP plan calls for major industrial emitters, who account for 50% of Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions, to pay $35 per tonne of carbon emitted. In one year alone, this would generate approximately $2.5 billion, which would be invested in developing green technologies and making them affordable for the average consumer.
