Republican Michele Bachmann ReWrites American History Of Slavery

According to Republican Representative Michele Bachmann, the authors of the American Constitution worked tirelessly to end slavery. (!) She seems to have no knowledge of the American Civil War, The Emancipation Proclamation or that George Washington and Thomas Jefferson OWNED SLAVES.

There is no excuse for her blatant stupidy.

Harper's Corporate Tax Cuts Should Bring The Government Down

"If Mr. Harper’s priority is to give more to the banks, he knows what to expect."
Thomas Mulcair, MP
New Democrat Finance Critic

It is political alchemy. The Right believes that if you give billions and billions of dollars to the corporate sector, they will create thousands and thousands of new jobs.

Excuse me? Where are the stats that prove this economic nonsense? Jim Stanford, economist with the Canadian Auto Workers estimates that Canada's corporate sector is currently sitting on Billions of retained earnings, savings and other cash investments that are NOT actively creating jobs. Never the less, Stephen Harper is going to borrow a further $6 Billion (that you and I will have to repay through our tax dollars) and drop it into the lap of large corporations.

No thank you!

Some Online Egyptians Bypassing Government WebBan With Help From Canadian Company

VANCOUVER -- HootSuite, a Vancouver-based website that allows users to manage their social networking accounts, is reporting a seven-fold spike in new users from Egypt in the past two days after Egyptian authorities shut down Internet access and text messaging late Thursday amid mass political unrest.

HootSuite users were accessing the site by dialing in to a server in North America from their mobile phones.

“When we looked at the (web) traffic this morning the graph just went vertical,” said Dave Olson, marketing director for HootSuite, on Friday.

Olson said the company gained tens of thousands of new Egyptian users in two days after protests erupted against Egypt President Hosni Mubarak resulting in an unprecedented government shut down of Internet access. He estimated in December, before the spike, there were between 12,000 to 15,000 users in Egypt. That means the number has jumped to more than 80,000 this week. HootSuite launched in 2008 and now has about 1.3 million members.

Vancouver Sun

Egypt Steps Off The Internet

"At 22:34 UTC (00:34am local time), Renesys observed the virtually simultaneous withdrawal of all routes to Egyptian networks in the Internet's global routing table. Approximately 3,500 individual BGP routes were withdrawn, leaving no valid paths by which the rest of the world could continue to exchange Internet traffic with Egypt's service providers. Virtually all of Egypt's Internet addresses are now unreachable, worldwide.

This is a completely different situation from the modest Internet manipulation that took place in Tunisia, where specific routes were blocked, or Iran, where the Internet stayed up in a rate-limited form designed to make Internet connectivity painfully slow. The Egyptian government's actions tonight have essentially wiped their country from the global map.

What happens when you disconnect a modern economy and 80,000,000 people from the Internet? What will happen tomorrow, on the streets and in the credit markets? This has never happened before, and the unknowns are piling up. We will continue to dig into the event, and will update this story as we learn more."

-renesys.com

"It took just 13 minutes to wipe 80 million Egyptians off the Internet.
As the protests against authoritarian President Hosni Mubarak’s 30-year regime widened this week, the Egyptian government took the unprecedented step of ordering virtually all the country’s Internet service providers to shut down all connections, taking the country’s citizens and institutions off the digital map."

Putting 'Sexy' Back Into The Conservative Message!

Viewer discretion is advised ....

Harper Repackages Failed 'Trickle Down'Economics As 'Corporate Tax Cuts'

Here we go again. Another flawed tenet of right wing ideology is going to be tried yet again by the mindless Harper Conservatives. Here is the plan ... give Billions of borrowed dollars to the largest corporations (banks, car manufacturers, etc.) and these dollars will be invested in the economy by the big capitalists creating jobs and prosperity. Problem is that this ideology has failed time after time after time.

Essentially, the concept is that if you give a bushel of oats to a big old horse, the oats will work their way out of the arse end of the horse and the little sparrows can pick through the crap and find some of the oats to eat.

Trickle Down Economics is a pillar of the Right's failed ideology. It basically feeds the corporate sector with borrowed money that the taxpayers have to repay. It works VERY well for the Corporate sector. It doesn't work that well for the little sparrows .. I mean working taxpayers.

Harper is going to fight hard to give Billions of borrowed dollars to the rich, corporate sector. Already, Right wing 'double speak' is being used by the Conservatives. Harper has already labeled the demands for cancellation of these proposed tax cuts as a 'tax increase'! Total dishonesty ... but that is what we have come to expect from Stephen Harper.

The Conservative Party Of Canada (not really) Working For You!

Rick Mercer once again exposes bloody Tory lies!

The Immaturity Of Stephen Harper

Anyone who has ever observed a pouting teenage boy who is not getting his way knows the look. Arrogant, angry, defiant, cocky .... pathetic.

Welcome to Canada, 2011.

"OTTAWA— Stephen Harper has been saying that co-operation in Parliament could avert an election in the near future, but the opposition leaders say the Prime Minister doesn’t seem interested in seeking any help in keeping his government afloat.

While Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff was calling Harper the “Home Alone” Prime Minister in a speech on Tuesday, NDP Leader Jack Layton said he’s wondering why a politician who wants co-operation would release negative TV advertisements, attacking the people he says he wants to work with.

“It takes a pretty peculiar psychology to think that that makes sense,” Layton said in an interview from Nova Scotia, where he finished a nationwide tour before heading back to Ottawa for the NDP caucus retreat.

Liberal officials said Harper has only consulted Ignatieff a couple of times in the past two years, and they do not expect any conversations leading up to the reopening of Parliament next week or the budget, expected in late March.

Layton said he last spoke with Harper over the phone on Dec. 17, when the prime minister expressed an interest in following up to discuss what the NDP would want to see in the budget.

Layton has not put in a request to speak to Harper because it was the prime minister who asked him first.

“He knows where to find me,” Layton said. “Anytime he wants to talk to me, I’ve always been available.”

That meeting has yet to happen and the Chronicle-Herald reported Tuesday that Harper spokesman Andrew MacDougall said meeting Layton is unnecessary because the Conservative government is already aware of his demands."

Here's What -45 degree Windchill Is Like - Regina, Sask January 20, 2011

"How cold was it in Regina on the morning of Jan. 20, 2011? Well, staff at Springboard West Innovations in Regina decided to show Leader-Post readers how chilly it was. DUH!! He's NOT The Prime Minister For Most Canadians!

"PARLIAMENT HILL—One of Canada’s top constitutional experts has criticized Prime Minister Stephen Harper for allowing the Conservative Party to portray him in a partisan pre-election television ad in the Prime Minister’s official House of Commons office.

Queen’s University professor Ned Franks told The Hill Times Wednesday the unprecedented ad featuring Mr. Harper (Calgary-Southwest, Alta.) “runs against the idea he’s the Prime Minister for all Canadians and presents an image of him as only Prime Minister for those who vote for him.”

“The responsibilities of the office go well beyond simply the people who vote for him or donate money to the party, and that’s part of the problem,” Prof. Franks said.

Federal Ethics Commissioner Mary Dawson on Wednesday rejected a request from Liberal MP Jim Karygiannis (Scarborough-Agincourt, Ont.) for an inquiry into the controversial use of the Prime Minister’s Office. Communications officer Jocelyne Brisebois told The Hill Times Ms. Dawson has jurisdiction over the Conflict of Interest Act and the Commons Conflict of Interest Code for MPs, and the issue of office use appears to be under House of Commons jurisdiction.

But NDP MP Pat Martin (Winnipeg Centre, Man.) said the ad, one of a series of TV ads the Conservative Party unveiled on Monday, “crosses all kinds of ethical boundaries,” in part because the ads were linked to a Conservative fundraising campaign that carried the same message and themes as the TV ads.

'Baby Doc' Arrested In Haiti

PORT-AU-PRINCE -- Haitian police took ex-dictator Jean-Claude Duvalier out of a hotel and into custody Tuesday shortly after noon.

The former despot known as ``Baby Doc'' was led through the posh Karibe Hotel in Petionville by a contingent of heavily-armed police. He did not say anything as he was escorted through the back of the hotel but his companion laughed when asked if Duvalier was being arrested."

Regina Author Meets With Killer Charles Manson For New Book

"Marynick describes in his book what he heard when he answered his phone on Nov. 8, 2008, and heard a computerized voice saying:
"I have a collect call from . . . " There was a momentary pause, and then a single word: "Charles." The monotone recording returned. " . . . an inmate at California State Prison, Corcoran One, in Corcoran, California. To hear the cost of this call, dial or say, 'nine.' To accept, dial or say, 'five.'

"I pushed five, held my breath, and waited a few seconds for the call to go through. After a momentary click, I was connected. And Charles Manson was on the line."

BC Liberal Cabinet Minister Talks About NDP MLA Getting His 'Head Shot Off' .... not smart ...

You would think that with Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck's recent troubles over political violence, the words of a British Columbia Liberal Cabinet Minister should have been tempered to something less stupid:

I think that the Canadian Broadcasting Standards Council needs to create a historical category wherein it is acknowledged that some archaic, yet historical songs, tunes, books etc., may not pass muster by today's acceptability standards yet they constitute part of our historical development and need a place in the archives of our culture.

The American book, 'Huckleberry Finn' should also be considered in a similar category as well.

Toronto Radio Station Trades Air Time To Westboro Baptist Church In Return For Cancelling Protest At Murdered Child's Funeral In Arizona

"TORONTO — Members of a radical Kansas church have cancelled plans to picket the funeral of a nine-year-old girl killed in a shooting rampage in Arizona, after being promised a live interview on a Toronto radio station.

Dean Blundell, a controversial morning show host on rock radio station 102.1 The Edge, said he brokered the deal with Shirley Phelps-Roper of the Westboro Baptist Church in an effort to prevent further suffering for the victim's family.

Phelps-Roper has also credited Blundell and another Arizona radio station for persuading her and fellow church members to stay away from the funeral for Christina Green, who was one of six people killed on Saturday in Tucson, Ariz.

The church had previously planned to picket Green's funeral on Thursday, saying the Arizona shooter had been sent by God to punish sinners in the country.

The organization also has a long history of picketing the funerals of fallen American soldiers on the grounds that the nation is too tolerant towards homosexuals."

Imagine if Palin had put out a video that gave condolences to the victims and then pledged to tone down her rhetoric but OH NO!

Sarah Palin is well on her way to the dustbin of history. It simply can't happen fast enough. The only thing I hope for is that the door doesn't hit her in the arse on her way out.

Official Anti-Defamation League (ADL) Statement on Sarah Palin's Response to Tucson Tragedy

New York, NY, January 12, 2011 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today responded to criticism of former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin for using the term "blood-libel" in her statement on the tragic shootings in Tucson, Arizona. It is unfortunate that the tragedy in Tucson continues to stimulate a political blame game. Rather than step back and reflect on the lessons to be learned from this tragedy, both parties have reverted to political partisanship and finger-pointing at a time when the American people are looking for leadership, not more vitriol. In response to this tragedy we need to rise above partisanship, incivility, heated rhetoric, and the business-as-usual approaches that are corroding our political system and tainting the atmosphere in Washington and across the country. [...] we wish that Palin had not invoked the phrase "blood-libel" in reference to the actions of journalists and pundits in placing blame for the shooting in Tucson on others. While the term "blood-libel" has become part of the English parlance to refer to someone being falsely accused, we wish that Palin had used another phrase, instead of one so fraught with pain in Jewish history.
Abraham Foxman
ADL National Director

Several National Jewish Groups Have Responded To Palin's Inappropriate Use Of The Phrase "Blood Libel"

“Instead of dialing down the rhetoric at this difficult moment, Sarah Palin chose to accuse others trying to sort out the meaning of this tragedy of somehow engaging in a ‘blood libel’ against her and others,” said David Harris, president of the National Jewish Democratic Council.

“This is of course a particularly heinous term for American Jews, given that the repeated fiction of blood libels are directly responsible for the murder of so many Jews across centuries — and given that blood libels are so directly intertwined with deeply ingrained anti-Semitism around the globe, even today,” he said.

Simon Greer, the president of Jewish Funds for Justice, called Palin's use of the term (Blood Libel) "totally out-of-line."

"The term “blood libel” is not a synonym for 'false accusation,' he said. "It refers to a specific falsehood perpetuated by Christians about Jews for centuries, a falsehood that motivated a good deal of anti-Jewish violence and discrimination."

And Abe Foxman, the national director of the Anti-Defamation League, said that it was "inappropriate at the outset to blame Sarah Palin and others for causing this tragedy," but added that "we wish that Palin had not invoked the phrase 'blood libel' in reference to the actions of journalists and pundits in placing blame for the shooting in Tucson on others."

"While the term 'blood libel' has become part of the English parlance to refer to someone being falsely accused, we wish that Palin had used another phrase, instead of one so fraught with pain in Jewish history," he said.
Sarah Palin's Use of Jewish Slur 'Blood Libel' Causes Uproar

"Few mainstream Republicans have defended Mrs Palin, leaving it to far-right commentators** such as Mr Limbaugh and Glenn Beck.

Roger Ailes, the Fox News President who is Mrs Palin's boss at the network where she has a talk show slot, said this week that he had told his hosts to "tone it down". While Mrs Palin's tone was utterly unapologetic, it was her use of the term "blood libel" that propelled her to the eye of a new storm yesterday.

Mrs Palin apparently plucked the phrase from the right-wing blogs where it has proliferated after earlier appearing in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece on the controversy. She seems, however, to have used it without consideration of its anti-Semitic origins or the fact that Ms Giffords, the target of the shooting, is Jewish.

Jewish leaders were quick to condemn her words. David Harris, the president of the National Jewish Democratic Council, said: "Sarah Palin's invocation of a 'blood libel' charge against her perceived enemies is hardly a step in the right direction." The Anti-Defamation League said: "We wish that Palin had used another phrase, instead of one so fraught with pain in Jewish history."

Ari Fleischer, the former spokesman for George W Bush and himself Jewish, said: "It would have been even better if she simply rose above the accusations about her map and focused entirely on the bigger message of loss, tragedy and the greatness of our country and the strength of our people."

"Sarah Palin, Blood Libels, And More News From Arizona" - Republished From BigCityLib

The following post appeared originally on the blogsite of BigCityLib. It is well stated and bang on. I want to make sure that as many people as possible read it .. hence I am reposting it here"

Sarah Palin, Blood Libels, And More News From Arizona

1) The Teabaggers are turning on moderate Republicans down in Arizona:

A nasty battle between factions of Legislative District 20 Republicans and fears that it could turn violent in the wake of what happened in Tucson on Saturday prompted District Chairman Anthony Miller and several others to resign.

Miller, a 43-year-old Ahwatukee Foothills resident and former campaign worker for U.S. Sen. John McCain, was re-elected to a second one-year term last month. He said constant verbal attacks after that election and Internet blog posts by some local members with Tea Party ties made him worry about his family's safety.

2) Sarah Palin's use of the term "blood libel" to describe the criticisms levelled at her in the wake of the Tuscon shooting is crazy, of course. One theory is that she found this crimson bauble of a word in an earlier column by Glen Reynolds and used it without knowing the meaning. Another is that she first intended to claim that she was being subjected to a "witch hunt", but didn't want to offend fellow Republican Christine O'Donnel.

3) All this outrage from American Conservatives/teabaggers is a desperate feint. If Sarah Palin didn't at some level perceive her own measure of responsibility for this tragedy, she wouldn't have pulled that gun-site graphic from her Facebook page; she wouldn't have had one of her aides make the ridiculous claim that the symbols weren't rifle sites but surveyor's marks. If Glenn Beck didn't at some level perceive his own measure of responsibility, he wouldn't have scrubbed that image of him looking like a middle-aged, over-weight James Bond wannabe--holding, of course, a handgun--from his website.

They know.

Finally Someone On The RIGHT Acknowledges That Palin Has Been Irresponsible With Violent Imagery In The Political Debate!

Prominent American Right Winger, Pat Buchanan, agrees that Sarah Palin, Rep. Michele Bachmann and other Republicans have been highly irresponsible in their rhetoric and imagery in light of the recent Arizona shootings and should apologize:

(Interviewer JOE SCARBOROUGH): So Pat, is this not a time for people, like Sarah Palin, who have used violent imagery – she just has. I know some of my conservative friends and family members won’t like that reality. Or, Michele Bachmann, who said she wants Minnesotans armed and dangerous. Isn’t this an opportune time for them to apologize -– not saying that it led to anything — but just saying that they’ve been irresponsible in their rhetoric and they’re going to be more careful moving forward? […] I am just saying though, I mean, God, you’ve worked for two presidents. Would you not be in there if you were working for Sarah Palin right now, saying, go out and say it had nothing to do with this shooting, but you understand that it was irresponsible, and you’re going to be more careful moving forward. Wouldn’t you give her that advice if you were her aide?

(PAT BUCHANAN): Well, I certainly would. I would give everybody the advice to tone down the rhetoric and get away from military and the armed metaphors and things that a lot of us have used in campaigns, especially at a time like this. You know, I sure would Joe.

Canadians Think The Rest Of The World LOVES Us! .... ahh .. not so much when it comes to hockey fans

The following article was published in the Buffalo News from New York, USA:

"It is a good thing that the World Junior hockey tournament did not last any longer. Another week, and we might have had a border war.

Even as it was, I think we saw a different side of the normally placid, polite, patient good neighbors we thought we knew. Buffalo was invaded by a sea of red. The tide has receded, leaving behind some hard feelings, shattered stereotypes and an aftertaste as bad as the backwash from a warm Molson.

Whatever happened to the polite, humble, rule-respecting folks we thought we knew? Where were the civic-minded citizens who dutifully wait at the street corner when the traffic light is red, even when no cars are coming? Wherever you are, we want you back.

I am not sure if it was the insufferable sense of hockey superiority, or the pre-and post-game beers, but this tournament brought out the inner lout in a lot of Canadians. Arrogant, loud, drunk, obnoxious — if I didn’t know better, I would have thought that they were, well, Americans.

From the guy arrested for punching an American fan at the USA-Canada game, to the sea of red that adopted any team that the USA played, to the drunken red-clad louts at the New Year’s Eve ball drop (staggering, middle-aged, red-clad lady I saw clutching a half-empty bottle of vodka, this means you), to the legions of lousy tippers at bars and restaurants — a lot of Canadians wore out their welcome long before Russia shattered their gold medal dreams. Believe me, there were not a lot of Buffalonians crying over that outcome.

It was, well, dismaying. I have always enjoyed the peaceful co-existence and mutually advantageous relationship we have with our cold-climate cohorts.

Buffalonians like our weekends in big-city Toronto. We enjoy the better side of Niagara Falls. Many of us appreciate cross-border culture, from the Shaw Festival to the Canadian ballet. We relish pounding on Toronto’s hockey team, one of the Sabres’ few longtime whipping boys. And we forgive Torontonians the sterile Rogers Centre, as it is the closest viewing site for WNY’s legion of Yankee fans. We even overlook their use of “eh” as punctuation and their affection for the underwhelming Peace Bridge.

In return, Canadians like our 4 a.m. bar closing and our wings and the bargains at our malls and our City of Good Neighbors affability. As a demonstration of our generosity, we even share our football team with Toronto — although as gifts go, it ranks with the holiday fruitcake.

Make no mistake, we were more than happy the past couple of weeks to have Canadians sleep in our hotel rooms, eat in our restaurants, drink in our bars and shop in our malls. We love the uncommon smell of outside dollars. All we ask is that you do not be obnoxious about it.

In some cases, it was too much to ask. I talked to workers at a downtown bar/restaurant that will remain nameless, to protect the place’s cross-border business. By tournament’s end, they had disdain for all things emblazoned with a Maple Leaf. The main complaint, and this is not new, is a lot of Canadian hockey fans are awful tippers.

“They would have a few beers and leave like a quarter or 50 cents,” said one bartender, who for job security reasons asked that his name not be used. “Servers said they were getting two-dollar tips on a$25 check.”

OK, chronically bad tipping is not cause for a diplomatic crisis. But multiply it by a few thousand visitors, and you leave behind a lot of irritation.

So I think it is a good thing that this thing is over. I look forward to getting back to our usual, cozy, mutually beneficial relationship. Aside from everything else, it is tough to stay mad at the nation that gave us Molson’s and Labatt’s, eh?"

Saskatchewan's NewsTalkRadio Comes To Sarah Palin's Defence

This blog was named a number of times this morning on the Right wing call in show hosted by defeated Conservative Member of Parliament, John Gormley. Mr. Gormley was particularly angry at this post that I published on January 8th concerning Sarah Palin's cross hairs map..

For my readers who are not familiar with him, John Gormley is the disgraced former MP who now hosts a lame imitation of Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh on the Saskatchewan air waves. At the fall of the corrupt Grant Devine administration in Saskatchewan, Gormley was found to have been in receipt of huge amounts of tax payers money for which no tangible service seems to have been rendered.

The following Canadian Press article appeared in the Regina Leader-Post - after the defeat of the Conservative Devine government and the findings of the Gass Commission inquiry:
"The defeated conservative MP was paid $1000.00 a month by the Grant Devine government as a “public relations consultant” while he was a full-time student at law school.

John Gormley was paid by the Saskatchewan Liquor Board during the first year of his three years at law school, according to a contract obtained by the Canadian Press.

The contract was signed in September 1989 under the administration of Devine.

Gormley, now 34*
(*this was in 1992) represented the northern Saskatchewan riding of Battlefords-Meadow Lake for one term before being defeated in the 1988 federal election by New Democrat Len Taylor.

Less than two months after the election, Gormley signed a contract with the provincial government that paid him $5000.00 a month for unspecified services for the since-disbanded Department of Public Participation.

In the fall of 1989, Gormley signed on as a public relations consultant for the Provincial Liquor Board at a salary of $1000.00 a month, with an additional $175.00 and expenses for each day he actually worked for the Crown board.

At the same time, John was a full time student at the University of Saskatchewan’s school of law. He cancelled the contract in April 1990.

All told, the radio journalist may have been paid up to $48,000.00 by the PC government.

Gormley, who graduated from law school last month (June ‘92) confirmed the terms of both contracts in an interview.

“I did a retainer arrangement where I did public relations work with the (liquor) board itself.” he said. ” I was doing communications consulting work as a former broadcaster.”

Gormley said his political connections likely helped him get the liquor board contract.

“I was somebody with a relatively high profile in the province. The fact that I was a former Tory MP, I’m sure had some effect on the government.

Gormley said he did a number of public relations jobs for the liquor board during his month contract, but would not say how many hours he worked.

“I can’t comment on that.” he said.

Liquor board spokesman Holly Alexander said there is no record of what Gormley did during the period covered by the contract.

“There’s nothing on file to indicate exactly what Mr. Gormley did for the liquor board,” she said. ”At this point, we just don’t know.”

Westboro Baptist Church Praises Killings In Arizona - Will Demonstrate At Funerals

A Timeline Of American Right Wing Insurrectionism To Date

(This Billboard was erected on I-70 in Lafayette County, Missouri, and promotes "a citizens guide to REVOLUTION." It urges Missourians to "LIVE FREE OR DIE" and "PREPARE FOR WAR" with a corrupt government. The billboard is highlighted at the Lafayette County Republicans website).

On June 26, 2008, the U.S. Supreme Court embraced the National Rifle Association's contention that the Second Amendment provides individuals with the right to take violent action against our government should it become "tyrannical." The following timeline catalogues incidents of insurrectionist violence (or the promotion of such violence) that have occurred since that decision was issued:

June 26, 2008—The case of District of Columbia v. Heller is decided by the Supreme Court in a 5-4 ruling. The opinion not only endorses the National Rifle Association’s “individual right” interpretation of the Second Amendment; it also affirms that one of the purposes of the right is to “assure the existence of a “citizens’ militia” as a safeguard against tyranny.” The NRA’s amicus brief in the case had argued that “the Second Amendment refers to the utility of an armed population in preventing government tyranny.”

Here's the timeline ....

Second male sought in connection with Tucson shooting: sheriff

"Another suspect is being sought in the deadly shooting outside a Tucson grocery store Saturday that killed six people and critically wounded a U.S. congresswoman, whom officials say was the target of the attack.

Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said they are not convinced the alleged gunman, who was tackled by "two brave individuals" acted alone in the shooting. U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona, who was shot in the head, was among at least 19 people shot.

"There's some reason to believe he came to this location with another individual," Dupnik said in a news conference Saturday night, adding they have pictures of a second suspect.

Dupnik said the suspect in custody, who has been identified as 22-year-old Jared Laughner, had a criminal background, was a college student and that there had been "some difficulties with him."

CBC

"The suspected gunman in the Arizona shooting has “a troubled past” and used a semi-automatic pistol in the spree that killed six people and wounded 13 on Saturday, Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said.

The sheriff told a news conference that authorities are seeking a second male in connection with the shooting in Tucson that seriously wounded U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords."
